MNST 6342 Moving Toward Shalom in a Racialized World
This course explores the theological, and sociological foundations of justice and peace, forming a critical foundation for multiethnic church ministry. Through course readings and careful engagement with Scripture, students will examine the claim that "justice is central to biblical religion," distinguishing the biblical vision of justice and peace from classical philosophical notions. The course gives particular attention to Jesus as a prophet of justice and peace and considers how his life and teachings inform ministry in diverse, multicultural contexts. By integrating biblical theology with contemporary realities, students will be equipped to cultivate intercultural communities rooted in reconciliation, and the holistic shalom of God.
