Major in Applied Computer Science

The major in Applied Computer Science is designed with a focus on versatility and applicability of current best practices in modern computing. The program emphasizes accessibility by offering courses both on-campus and online via our partnership with LCMC / Rize Education. Students  are expected to graduate the program being able to (1) demonstrate understanding of mathematical structures, mathematical techniques, and formal mathematical reasoning as they pertain to the area of computer science; (2)  apply the techniques, skills, and modern tools necessary for practice in applied computer science; (3) demonstrate an understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities; (4) demonstrate an ability to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society.
