LOCI 4450 Geospatial Capstone Seminar

This capstone is a learning experience resulting in a consolidation of a student's educational experience and certifies mastery of entry level workplace geospatial competencies. The capstone experience should occur during the last semester of the student's educational program. Methods of providing a capstone experience may include one or more of the following: 1. A final learning experience that allows a student to apply broad knowledge of the discipline similar to a senior thesis. 2. A comprehensive examination prepared by the faculty of the geospatial education program and administered at the conclusion of the program. 3. A course involving simulation of the workplace, case studies, portfolios, and employment scenarios held in a seminar fashion. 4. A summative project involving the integration of various teams of students performing activities to simulate the situations, which may occur in the workplace. Students will learn how to compile, analyze and present geospatial data while emphasizing the value of visual communication, similar to a workplace simulation.
