LOCI 3000 Fundamentals of Smart Maps and Location Intelligence

This course will provide a survey of the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a tool of the discipline of geospatial technologies. Brief introductions to the use of spatial data, Global Positioning Systems (GNSS/GPS) and coordinate systems, map projections, cartography and visualization, remote sensing, and rudimentary spatial analysis will be presented through exposure to industry-standard GIS software use in the form of practical exercises. Participants will be introduced to how geospatial technology is applied in business, industry and government.
